Sunday Trees 284

Sunday Trees (Becca Givens)

I know it’s been a really long time since I have posted anything.  My Chronic Fatigue has been really bad lately due to a bunch of factors, so I had to take care of myself for a bit.  In the last week, I have started walking again and shot this picture with my phone.  It feels good to be coming out of the fog finally.  I’m going to start posting again, but probably not everyday just yet.  Here’s to a new week, getting back into life, and catching up with everything that’s been going on all over.

I love when all the trees begin to blossom in Spring.

Spring is almost here and the CherrY Trees are in full bloom.  Some of them have even fully shredded all their blossoms.  I came across this pretty pink one while I was picking up the kids last week.  And look at those blue skies.  I miss the clouds and the rain.  The temps are already going up around here.  This week we are destined for 80 degree weather.  I wish if it wasn’t going to rain, that it would at least be cool for awhile.  I’m not ready for summer yet.  Well, here’s to another great week.  I have been walking almost everyday though I had to rest a lot this weekend, but I am hoping I can get back to it this week.  I gotta keep moving forward and at least I have gotten to the part where I am starting to enjoy walking again.  WOO-HOO!!!

This is one of the trees that provides shade at the track I walk at occasionally.

I took this pic on a walk.  It was off to the side of the trail.  I felt like it if I went off under the tree, I would end up in another world.

I took a walk at night the other day and took this picture.  It originally had a yellowish tone that I hadn’t intended to change, but I was playing around with the editing tools to crop the photo and then I started playing around with the filters and saw the pic in B&W and actually liked it better.  I like the almost x-ray look of it.  Turning the trees a vivid white, you can see every branch sprouting off in every which way.  Hopefully soon those branches will be full of leaves.

Travel Theme: Bark

Travel Theme: Bark (Where’s my backpack?)

This is my first time doing the Travel Theme, but I love trees and in particular, the bark.  I find it so interesting.  Every kind of tree has different bark.  Some thick, some thin, some peeling, some with deep grooves, and on and on.  And let’s not forget all the colors tree bark comes in.  Mother Nature is truly remarkable.  The pictures below are from my walks in my neighborhood.

I used my Macro lens to take this one.  I just wanted to see what all the grooves would look like up close.
I love the peeling bark and bright colors underneath in this one.
I took this one because it looks like scales and I had to resist the urge to pull them all off.  Not really sure where the urge came from, but I just wanted to stick my finger under each one and just flip it off.
Not sure this is bark, but I love the weaving up the side of the tree.
I noticed this tree first because of the reddish color and then as I got closer, I saw the peeking bark.  It reminds me of curling ribbon.

I have seen these trees for the past couple of weeks and finally stopped to take a picture of them since this is the Sunday before Valentine’s Day. I thought this was such a cute idea and I have to admit that seeing these bright red hearts each day has put a smile on my face. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and don’t forget to tell the people you love how much you care. People need to hear it, know it and feel it.
