What is the most incredible natural venue that you’ve ever seen in person?

By the time I was 11 I had flown back and forth from Australia several times, with layovers in various places, but we had never really left California.  Well, there was the one time we drove all night to Las Vegas to see my Uncle who was on tour with the band he managed.  I think I was about 4 or 5.  My sister and I drove our Dad insane asking him to play our Cabbage Patch tape over and over.  We were only in Vegas for a matter or hours.  We visited our Uncle and then saw the show which was if I remember right, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, and drove back home.  So our first real road trip out of California was to the Grand Canyon.  We stopped in Lake Havasu, drove through the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest, and then as we turned back to California we stopped and stayed at the Grand Canyon.  It was amazingly beautiful and mesmerizing.  I wanted to just stand and stare at it forever.  I wish I could’ve found the pictures we took.  It’s on my list of places to go back to since we didn’t really do any of the tours or anything when I was little.  I’d really like to see more.

How many siblings do you have? What’s your birth order?

I am number 3 of 4.  I have 2 older brothers and 1 older sister and 1 younger sister.

If you were a shoe, what kind would you be and why?

I’d probably be a flip flop.  I’m an easy going person.  I like to be comfortable at all times.  I’m not too dressy.  I’m probably the one friend that everyone would elect to be on one of those makeover shows because I pretty much wear jeans and a t-shirt or a t-shirt and shorts all the time.  Flips flops are easy on, easy off.  They aren’t flashy and pretty much go with everything.

What is the strangest/weirdest thing you have ever eaten?

I guess it would have to be Kangaroo when I lived in Australia.  My Mom had never cooked anything out of the ordinary and then in one week she fed us rabbit and kangaroo, though she didn’t tell us until after we’d eaten it.  I remember liking both, but I was so angry at my Mom for tricking us and somehow that anger has kept me from eating them ever again.

Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful to get things back on track last week.  I did a lot of cleaning and organizing after being in pain and sick for so long.  It was good to get my apartment in order again.

This week, I get to celebrate my 13th anniversary with my husband and this weekend we are having a surprise birthday party for my brother in law for his 60th.  So lots of celebrating going on.
