Because of my cowardice,

This spider rules my house.

It crawls across the walls,

And all I do is sit quiet as a mouse.

I am frozen in place,

Trying to show no fear.

My eyes track it’s progress,

I wish I had a spear.

It’s getting close to the ceiling,

And I can’t let it get that far.

I must be brave,

But I want to run to my car.

I give myself the pep talk,

I run and grab the swiffer.

A little more pep talk,

And the swiffer becomes a squisher.

Sorry spider!
